Columbia Counselor Earns Ph.D.

Columbia, CA — A counselor at Columbia College has added a Ph.D. to her credits.

The College says Lynn Martin recently earned her Doctorate degree in higher education administration from Capella University. Martin has been affiliated with Columbia College full time since 1996.

College officials say Martin received her BA in physical education from San Francisco State University in 1965 and a Masters degree in 1978. She earned an additional Masters degree in counseling 1990.

She began her career as a teacher in San Mateo where she coached several women´s sports. In the 1970s, Martin ranked 4th in Northern California in women´s tennis doubles. And in 1998 she was inducted into the San Francisco State University´s Hall of Fame for women´s basketball.
