Sponsored by:

The 109th session of Congress is under way, with Republicans more firmly in control and ready to implement the president´s agenda.

Congressman George Radanovich, representing our area at Capitol Hill, says today´s a busy day in Washington DC.

“The whole Congress is elected every two years, so we´ll be taking the pledge and voting for a new speaker, and also the rules of house today, the rules with which we´ll be conducting ourselves over the next two years.”

Radanovich spoke to KVML News this morning on his way to work from Alexandria Virginia.

The Senate also began its proceedings with a moment of silence for

the victims of the tsunami before senators took their oath, which

was administered by Vice President Cheney.
