Weather Forecasters Say Wet Weather To Remain

Sponsored by:

Undated — Forecasters are warning Mother Lode residents of wet weather to remain for the rest of the week.

The National Weather Service says a low pressure system in the Gulf of Alaska combined with a very strong jet stream will bring light rain to the area about midday today and the Sierra Nevada by tomorrow.

Forecasters say snow levels should remain above 7000 feet. A cold front is expected to move into the Northern part of the state by tomorrow.

The weather service says significant rain will be possible in the northern coastal mountains.

Officials are also warning that warm weather combined with recent rainfall are causing water levels to rise and will greatly increase the possibility of flooding.
