Arnold, CA — A day to raise money for Jason Knight, who was injured in a car accident last month, is taking place this Saturday.

The 14-year-old was riding his bike near Avery Middle School when he collided with a car.

According to Pam Bowman of Avery Middle School, Knight was flown to UC Davis Medical Center where he remained in a coma for seven days. Knight is now recovering and has several weeks of rehabilitation left.

Knight is still at UC Davis and is now listed in good condition.

The community is invited to gather from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Big Trees Market parking lot in Arnold where there will be tri-tip, entertainment and raffle prizes.

Coinciding with the day´s activities are a 5k run and 1.5-mile walk. Registration is at 1 p.m. and the race starts at 2 p.m.

A fund has been set up in Knight´s name at El Dorado Savings Bank.
