Conservation Grants Available

Sponsored by:

Jackson, CA — Local farmers and ranchers can now apply for grants to see if they qualify for conservation money.

The USDA´s Natural Resources Conservation Service office in Jackson is offering grants through the 2007 Environmental Quality Incentives Program.

Grant money goes towards projects such as tree planting and grazing systems. The program hopes to improve rangeland health and reduce fire fuels, pollution and soil erosion.

The deadline to apply is December 1. Interested persons in Calaveras, Tuolumne and Amador counties should contact the Jackson resource office at (209) 257-1851, extension 3.
