Animal Planet To Feature San Andreas Sanctuary

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — The show details are being kept secret but it has been confirmed the Discovery Channel is filming at a San Andreas wildlife sanctuary.

The Performing Animal Welfare Society operates three sanctuaries in California, one of which sits on 2,300 acres in San Andreas.

Kim Gardner of PAWS says crews from Animal Planet have been filming in all three locations for a special program featuring the non-profit organization. PAWS provides sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals. The San Andreas facility houses eight elephants and 36 tigers.

This Saturday crews will be filming at an open house at the Galt sanctuary. The last day of filming concludes with PAWS´ Elephant Grape Stomp in San Andreas on October 21.

Gardner says she´s not at liberty to discuss the nature of the program and she doesn´t know when it is airing. Those details will be released at a later date.
