Arnold Townhome Project Heads To Supes

Arnold, CA — 48 townhomes in Arnold are one step closer to fruition with a nod from the Calaveras County Planning Commission Thursday.

Lake Meadow Townhomes would be located at Blagen and Dunbar roads.

Numerous community members showed up to oppose a mitigation proposal tied to the development, which was to close Blagen Road at Highway 4.

It would add 300 vehicle trips per day to the already congested road and intersection.

Instead the commission approved the project on the condition that the developer pay into a fund that would put a signal at the intersection. This would be the first ever traffic light in Arnold.

A community meeting will be held soon to discuss alternatives for the intersection.

The developer´s agent Mike Hathaway says if approved by Supervisors, the project could be under construction by next spring with units for sale next fall.
