Arnold Townhomes Back For Consideration

Arnold, CA — A proposal to build 48 townhomes in Arnold will be back before the Calaveras County Planning Commission Thursday.

The project had been delayed to resolve issues surrounding the closure of Blagen Road.

Lake Meadow Townhomes is proposed at Blagen and Dunbar roads.

Mitigation requires the project to close off Blagen Road at Highway 4 but the idea has met opposition from the community.

After looking at the options, county planners are recommending to go forward with the project by closing Blagen Road.

County Planner John Andersen says no alternative could be found.

If approved by the commission, the developer, FM Company of Sacramento, would have to provide a plan on how the closure would work. That plan would be reviewed at a public hearing before the Board of Supervisors considers the project.

The Planning Commission meets at 9 a.m., Thursday inside the Board of Supervisors chambers at the Government Center in San Andreas.
