Update: Multiple Power Outages In Mother Lode
Update at 5:30 p.m.: PG&E reports it have restored power to the final outage in the Mother Lode that involved 51 customers in the Pine Mountain Lake area including a section of the airport and along Jimmersall Lane and Clements Road. The utility points to a broken power pole as a cause. Thursday’s stormy weather brought down power poles and lines leaving thousands of customers in both Tuolumne and Calaveras counties without electricity — some like those in the Angels Camp area along Highway 4 and Pool Station Road for over 24 hours. Further details on the widespread outages are below.
Update at 3:35 p.m.: While at one point today thousands were without lights, crews have been able to restore electricity to most that were without electricity in both Tuolumne and Calaveras County. In the latter, crews have restored power to 195 customers who were without light for over 24 hours outside of Angels Camp in the vicinity of Pool Station Road due to a downed power line. Still in the dark are 51 PG&E customers in the Pine Mountain Lake area of Tuolumne County including a section of the airport and along Jimmersall Lane and Clements Road. The utility attributes the outage to a broken power pole. Full restoration is estimate around 6 p.m.
Update at 2 p.m.: There is a new power outage in the Pine Mountain Lake area of Tuolumne County where 51 PG&E customers have no lights. A section of the airport is impacted along with customers along Jimmersall Lane and Clements Road. The utility points to a broken power pole as a cause. The company reports that a repair crew is on site and give a restoration time of 6 p.m. Additionally, crews have turned the lights back on for 687 customers in Cold Springs.
In Calaveras County, the outage in the Dorrington region has also been resolved. Those originally without power numbered 2,004 but that number dropped to 486 with the electricity restored around 1:45 p.m. There still remains 195 customers without power outside of Angels Camp in the vicinity of Pool Station Road due to a downed power line. Full restoration has been pushed to 3:30pm.
Update at 10:35am:Â There is a new power outage impacting 687 customers in the Cold Springs area of Tuolumne County. PG&E is anticipating full restoration by around 1:30pm.
As for the outage in the Dorrington region, the number of customers impacted has declined from 2,004 to 486. It is unclear when the final customers will be back on.
There still remains 195 customers without power outside of Angels Camp in the vicinity of Pool Station Road. Full restoration is anticipated by 1:30pm.
Update at 9:35am:Â There is a new major power outage stretching from Calaveras Big Trees, to Dorrington, Camp Connell, Cottage Springs and Ganns. The outage started at around 9:20am and it is impacting 2004 customers. What caused the outage is still under investigation. A crew is responding to the area.
Original story posted at 8:20am: Angels Camp, CA — There is one notable power outage still remaining in the Mother Lode following the storm system that passed through yesterday afternoon.
195 customers are without electricity along Pool Station Road and parts of nearby Highway 4. PG&E reports that a downed power line was located in the area and crews are working to make needed repairs. The plan is to have the impacted customers restored by one o’clock this afternoon.
There are also some single customer outages in Copperopolis and Cold Springs.
