Zion Williamson starts, but doesn’t finish, for Pelicans
Zion Williamson completed the Pelicans’ opening possession slicing through two converging Jazz defenders and laying the ball in off the glass while he was fouled. It was auspicious beginning to a performance that was efficient and produced some dazzling moments while it lasted. Williamson scored 13 points in about 15 minutes. But he also had to watch the final seven minutes of a 106-104 loss to Utah from the sideline. Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry says Williamson was on minute restrictions after missing nearly two weeks of practice to attend to a family matter.
