The Sonora City Council’s unfortunate decision to more than quadruple building and development fees over the next three years will be yet another stumbling block to the city’s competitive position for economic development. And, given the lack of development and revitalization in the city for the past several years, these higher fees won’t be collected and will do nothing to address budget shortfalls.
