Randolph HolderBernie Sanders’ recent references to FDR and the New Deal as models for his own brand of socialism fails to point out that Roosevelt’s social programs were based upon the principle of work in return for benefits; much like “Workfare,” signed into welfare reform law by Bill Clinton in the ‘90s, but NOT completely free healthcare, education and universal income paid for by the working class.
