Kudos to the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors for recognizing and acting upon the need for a full-time economic development professional. Although the Grand Jury’s findings on compensation and expenses is alarming, it’s a shame that their former partner, the Sonora City Council, doesn’t have that same commitment to the economic future of the county, especially given the recent spate of business closures downtown.
