Ca Budget Could Be Good News For Schools
Angels Camp, CA — Mother Lode schools are looking forward to collecting some overdue funds, now that Governor Schwarzenegger has signed a $131 billion state budget.
Calaveras County Superintendent of Schools, John Brophy says the money will be helpful when it comes to counseling services, physical education, and the arts.
He says the funds will be available for the 2006-2007 school year, which starts in the fall. Although the budget has been signed, Brophy says the money is still not guaranteed.
Due to the Governor´s veto power, funding could have been removed before the finalization of the budget; however Brophy says there are representatives that track the removal of funds and report back to the school boards.
