Yosemite National Park, CA — A bridge is being built around a massive rock slide that has closed a main route to Yosemite National Park.
Caltrans announced the project Thursday. The agency says the bridge will take two months to build.
Highway 140 has been blocked since April 29th by three million cubic yards of rock and debris. The mountain above the road continues to crumble making it too dangerous to clear the slide.
Employees who work in national park and live on the other side of the rock slide have seen their commutes to work increase to about five hours a day.
Caltrans says they´re still determining how much the bridge will cost.
