Sonora, CA — Sharing the spotlight with law enforcement is something that Tuolumne County Emergency Medical Service workers have grown accustom too.
This week however, is their time to shine. Along with National Police Week, Governor Schwarzenegger officially recognized May 14th through May 20th as National EMS Week as well.
Chief Operations Officer for Tuolumne County Ambulance Bill Caldera says when residents call 911, emergency workers are there 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to the situation and provide transportation to the hospital.
Caldera says their motto is to bring the emergency room directly out to the patient to prevent further illness or injury.
The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors has also officially recognized those who serve on health care´s front line.
