Sacramento, CA — Sunday marks the start of a week of recognition for several organizations.
May14th through the 20th is known as National Police Week, as well as National EMS week, which covers law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, ambulance providers, and emergency room personnel.
Police officials say the week commemorates the service and sacrifices of the more than 17,500 officers who have been killed in the line of duty since 1792.
Governor Schwarzenegger will be recognizing California´s emergency workers at the state capitol on Monday.
