Governors’ Bond Package Would Give Counties Needed Road Money
San Andreas, CA — A new plan by Gov. Schwarzenegger would give counties $1 billion for roads and $4 billion for flood protection.
Last Thursday the governor and the legislature struck a deal to place the $37 billion infrastructure proposal on the November ballot.
In it, Calaveras County is set to receive $4.3 million for transportation. Angels Camp would get $400,000. Tuolumne County would receive $4.1 million.
Statewide, the bond also includes $1 billion to improve Highway 99, $1 billion for air quality emission reductions, almost $3 billion for affordable housing, $7 billion for education, and another $1 billion for regional smart growth planning.
