Sacramento, CA — Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger´s campaign team says he is opposing Proposition 82, a June ballot initiative that would raise income taxes on the rich to pay for universal preschool.
The governor´s communications director says Schwarzenegger is opposed to Proposition 82 because it will raise taxes.
Until now, Schwarzenegger has avoided definitive statements on Proposition 82. But now it´s official, he´s against it.
Last month, Schwarzenegger accepted Rob Reiner´s resignation from the California First Five coalition. That´s a separate body that came under fire recently for spending $23 million on television advertising to support preschool.
