Sonora, CA– Drivers are encouraged to use caution while driving today.
A flash flood warning is in effect from 4 p.m. until this evening. Potential heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to move into the Mother Lode bringing one to two inches of rain which could lead to the flooding of small rivers and streams.
In addition to the Flash Flood Warning, a snow advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. this evening until Saturday morning. Snowfall accumulations of 6 to 10 inches are expected above 6000 feet, with three to six inches at elevations of 4500 to 5500 feet. The National Weather Service says snow covered roads and limited visibilities can be expected.
