Sonora, CA — The majority of Mother Lode residents are waking up to restored power this morning after a widespread outage last night.
Close to 34,000 customers ranging from Oakdale to Twain Harte were in the dark by 5:40pm Friday due to lightning strikes to power transmission lines.
PG&E officials reported nine separate outages over the course of three hours.
Spokeswoman Emily Barnet credits the timely power restoration to transmission crews who worked quickly in horrible weather conditions.
