California’s Minimum Wage May Be Increased
Sacramento, CA — Lawmakers will consider three separate bills this week that would increase the state´s minimum wage.
All three bills would raise the hourly minimum by one dollar, to $7.75. Two of the bills would also provide automatic increases to keep up with the pace of inflation. Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed increases to the state´s minimum wage in 2004 and 2005 — now he is in favor of the third version. That bill does not include the automatic increases for inflation.
