Man Charged With CHP Shooting Death Failed To Get Lawyer
Stockton, CA — A Stockton man charged with killing a California Highway Patrol officer in February has failed in his attempt to get a new lawyer.
Columbus Allen II pleaded not guilty in Stanislaus County Superior Court Thursday.
The judge denied his request for a different court appointed attorney. Allen was arrested hours after CHP officer Earl Scott was found shot to death on the side of Highway 99 near Salida.
