Voters Favor Some, But Not All, Of Governor’s Bond Proposals

Sacramento, CA — A new poll says most California voters are in favor of Governor Schwarzenegger´s proposal for a series of bond measures to pay for improvements to the state´s infrastructure.

According to a survey by the Field Poll released this morning, 56 percent of the 680 registered voters asked say they support putting bond measures on state ballots to help pay for improvements to transportation, flood control, schools and other facilities.

27 percent were opposed and 17 percent had no opinion. Schwarzenegger wants lawmakers and voters to approve $68 billion in bonds to help pay for a plan to finance transportation projects, new schools, flood control and water projects, prisons, jails, courthouses and certain other facilities.
