Discharge of A Firearm Still Under Review
San Andreas, CA — The District Attorney´s office is reviewing a case of a careless discharge of a firearm.
45-year-old Richard Ingram contacted the Calaveras County Sheriff´s department with reports of finding some of his stolen possessions at a campsite near San Domingo Rd. in Murphys yesterday.
Officials say they responded and found several items belonging to Ingram. Ingram later contacted the Sheriff´s department stating he was near the campsite again, this time with a shotgun, waiting for the suspect to come back. Ingram stated if the Sheriff´s department did not take care of the problem, he would.
Deputies went back to the campsite area and continued to search when the suspect pulled up to the campsite. Ingram then fired a shot in the air close to the deputies.
Charles Ormond a parole at large was booked and arrested for charges of Felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property and parole violation.
Although Ingram was released at the scene, the case is still under investigation to review Ingram´s discharge of a firearm.
