Pedro Pleased With Sacramento’s Budget Passage, But …

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Immediately Tuolumne County C.A.O. Craig Pedro is happy the state finally passed its new fiscal budget Tuesday afternoon.

While MediCal and social service funds are immediately available, Pedro adds it is now still another waiting game as Governor Schwarzenegger is expected to make approximately $700 million in line item cuts by Friday of this week.

Initially some determinations on a local basis could be made as soon as the governor orchestrates his cuts and signs the budget.

Pedro adds that it would then take another two to three weeks to sift out the details of the allocation of funding for various programs that are administered by the state.
