Sacramento, CA — Freshman legislator Tom Berryhill´s water management bill will become law January 1, 2008 thanks to the signature of Governor Schwarzenegger.
AB 1376 will require urban water suppliers to provide 60 days notification to municipal planning departments before considering amendments or changes to their water management plan.
CSAC (the California State Association of Counties) supported AB 1376 stating that “this law will ensure a more timely communication and coordination between water suppliers and local planning agencies, thus avoiding incorrect and unclear land use assumptions.”
AB 1376 is the first bill of Berryhill´s 2007 legislative package to be signed by the governor.
