Sonora, CA — Outside of the closure of Tuolumne General Hospital, the impending Lowe´s Home Improvement project may be one of the most discussed issues in the community.
And this weekend the Lowe´s project will be the focus of our Mother Lode Views on the three Clarke Broadcasting stations. Representing the developer, California Gold Development Corporation, is Mike Jones who maintains that the appeal of Judge Boscoe´s August, 2006 decision by the Tuolumne County Citizens For Responsible Growth has nothing to do with environmental issues.
City Administrator Greg Applegate, citing a study made two years ago, states that the city and the county have each lost $414,000 per year in sales tax revenue by not having Lowe´s in the community.
Lisa Vaughn of the Tuolumne County Citizens For Responsible Growth declined an invitation to participate per the advice of the organization´s attorneys.
The city, the developer and the Tuolumne County Citizens For Responsible Growth continue to wait for a decision to be rendered by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in Fresno.
Mother Lode Views will be broadcast on AM-1450 KVML at 10:30am, Saturday and 8:30am Sunday. The show will be repeated on STAR 92.7 at 9am Sunday and on Today´s Country KKBN (93.5) at 10am Sunday.
