Sonora, CA — According to Lt. Dan Bressler of the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department, the search for 16 year old Colleen Lenoir has been terminated.
Bressler did add that river conditions will be monitored.
The Dublin teenager, along with a friend, apparently slipped into the Stanislaus River early Sunday evening while wading in the Stanislaus River at the Pidgeon Flat area east of the Dardanelle Resort. Her friend grabbed onto a log and was able to climb onto a rock. Lenoir´s parents were fishing at the time of the incident.
Monday Search and Rescue teams from Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties and Yosemite National Park searched until nightfall. A number of helicopter flyovers were conducted but all efforts proved to be fruitless.
