Vote On Budget Compromise Could Come Next Week
Sacramento, CA — State lawmakers will get back to work today as they try get a handle on California´s expanding budget deficit.
Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg says talks earlier in the week with Gov. Schwarzenegger were positive even though Republicans were on the sidelines. Steinberg says a legislative vote on a compromise may come next week.
Finance officials are warning that California will run out of money in about two months unless lawmakers take action.
