C.H.P. Maximum Enforcement Period To Start In Five Hours
Jamestown and San Andreas, CA — The two Mother Lode C.H.P. offices will initiate the statewide Maximum Enforcement Period at 6pm.
80 percent of all available officers will be on duty. In addition the Sonora Area office will have officers working under the Hwy 108 Corridor Traffic Project patrolling from the Stanislaus County line to the Pinecrest turnoff.
Officers will be seeking those drivers that are speeding, weaving through traffic or over the double yellow lines. First time DUI offenders can expect fines and expenses to total approximately $10,000.
Officers will also be checking for seatbelt use, the appropriate use of child safety seats for children weighing under 60 pounds and individuals who fail to use a hands-free device for their cell phones.
The Christmas Maximum Enforcement Period will close midnight Sunday.
