Sacramento, Ca — This afternoon the Senate and Assembly approved a $143 billion dollar spending plan, and Governor Schwarzenegger says he will make it official with his signature.
The agreement means that California will soon resume payments to agencies, schools and state vendors that have been without new funding since July 1st.
?I am very glad that the legislature has finally agreed to improve the budget and to end this long impasse so that California can again pay its bills,? says Schwarzenegger. ?Passing the budget, I think, was a huge accomplishment not because they got rid of the structural problem that we have, because they did not, but there were great things accomplished.?
Schwarzenegger announced that he plans to sign the budget as early as Monday.
