Yosemite, Ca — Two prescribed burns are scheduled to be carried out over the next couple of weeks in the Yosemite Valley area.
Yosemite Spokesperson Adrienne Freeman says that when complete, they should total 79 acres. The first burn will be conducted immediately east of Bridalveil Meadow and the second will be east of the El Capitan picnic area. Both units are north of the Merced River adjacent to Northside Drive.
Residents and visitors are advised to take precautions to minimize smoke impacts, and people with respiratory problems should use caution when exerting themselves in smoky areas. The burns are subject to weather and conditions.
