Sonora, CA — This weekend´s Mother Lode Views will focus on the epidemic of illegal marijuana grows by the Mexican cartel in the foothills.
Guests will include U.S. Forest Service Southwest Region #5 Special Agent Ron Pugh from Vallejo, Tuolumne Narcotics Team Sgt. Scott Johnson and T.N.T. Detective Jarrod Pippin.
Pugh will state that policing California´s national forests is the agency´s top priority and to that extent the number of agents in the field has been doubled for this calendar year.
Pugh adds that the illegal Mexican nationals literally destroy portions of the forest by leaving behind bags of fertilizer that pollute waterways, garbage, water lines and even human waste when they depart their “grows.”
Sgt. Johnson will comment on public safety in the forests in that many of the Mexican nationals are armed and will not hesitate to fire upon an intruder.
Detective Pippin will explore the explosive growth of the number of “grows” over the past couple of years and the increasing number of plants-per-grow in the Mother Lode.
Mother Lode Views is aired on AM-1450 KVML Saturday morning at 9:30 and again Sunday morning at 8:30. Mother Lode Views is also aired on STAR 92.7 Sunday at 9am and an hour later on Today´s Country 93.5 KKBN.
