The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada that remains in effect until 10 PM tonight.
Six to eleven inches of accumulation is likely from 5500 to 6000 feet.
A Winter Storm Watch will then go into effect for the Sierra Nevada from 10 PM tonight through Sunday morning, as the next storm system will move into the area.
One to three feet of snow accumulation is expected above 6000 feet.
Winds of forty to sixty mph can be expected over the higher ridges with some gusts reaching sixty to seventy-five mph.
