Sacramento, CA — Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced on this Veteran’s Day that he will be traveling overseas to Iraq next week in order to visit U.S. troops.
This will be his first time in Iraq as the sitting Governor.
The Governor also spoke at a Veterans Day program in Los Angeles today, stating "Right now we remain at war in Afghanistan and Iraq and nearly one out of nine men and women that are serving in the armed forces of the United States are right here from California. So we must always ask ourselves, what is our commitment to them? How are we serving them, those who risk their lives for each one of us and who leave their families and their homes so that we can enjoy the comfort and security of ours."
The Governor added that there are currently 2.1 million military veterans living in California, and each should be thanked for their service.
