Sacramento, CA — State Senator Dave Cox (Dist. 1) is calling for immediate action on the part of Governor Schwarzenegger to push California’s economy in a positive direction.
The Senator is calling on Schwarzenegger to immediately sign Senate Bill 827, a bill that has been identified as a "job creator" by the California Chamber of Commerce.
According to Cox, "A recent study by the California Chamber of Commerce found that California’s economy may not be on the path to recovery as is the case for the rest of the nation’s economy. Job counts have fallen particularly fast in construction and manufacturing. The historic high unemployment rate does not capture the entire picture of our economic woes. It does not include folks who have stopped looking or are working part-time.
Our state’s economy need help. We must reduce regulations that are strangling businesses and pass legislation that will help boost job creation.
The Governor should sign Senate Bill 827. Far too many Californians are unemployed. They want to return to work and this measure will help put more residents back on payrolls."
