Vegetation Fire Extinguished Near Columbia College

Columbia, CA — A Sunday evening half-acre vegetation fire near Columbia College failed to damage any structures or cause any injuries.

According to CAL Fire Communications Operator Jim DeVoll the fire was initially reported at 10:50pm.

Response included five CAL Fire engines, two engines from Columbia Fire, one engine from Sonora Fire Department along with an engine and a water tender from the Tuolumne County Fire Department.

The fire was controlled at 4:50am.

Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
