Sacramento, CA — Legislative leaders were to have met in Sacramento Sunday to hopefully bridge the $26.3 billion budget deficit but that meeting was cancelled by Governor Schwarzenegger.
According to the Sacramento Bee the meeting was cancelled because the Assembly Speaker, Democrat Karen Bass from Los Angeles, arrived in Sacramento too late for a meeting. Her excuse, “Maybe some wires got crossed.”
Talks are scheduled to resume today.
Questions still to be answered: the use of local government funds to help erase the deficit, cuts in corrections and the amount of a reserve fund.
