Sacramento, CA — Governor Schwarzenegger had some rather harsh criticism for the legislature Wednesday afternoon after it failed to reach a budget deal prior to the end of the fiscal year.
“Instead of negotiating, Democrats and Republicans decided to have an endless amount of hearings and debates to finger point and assign blame,” says Schwarzenegger. “At the end of the day, all they managed were partial solutions that lacked the necessary cuts and reforms.”
25th District Assemblyman Tom Berryhill has stated, “With what happened last night, we’ll probably have to go back to square one and start all over again.”
The Governor also called for a third furlough day for state employees and ordered a special session of the legislature to solve the budget crisis.
