Vehicle Torched In Stanislaus County

San Andreas, CA — A stored vehicle was torched in the Oakdale area early this morning.

According to the CAL Fire Communications Operator Jim DeVoll the alarm was sounded at 5:33am. The vehicle was located at Warnerville Rd. and Crabtree Rd. In addition to the vehicle an acre and a half of vegetation was burned.

Response included two CAL Fire engines and one hand crew in addition to personnel from the Oakdale Fire Protection District.

Cause of the fire and dollar damage have yet to be determined. 

SUNDAY PM UPATE: The Sunday morning fire covered six acres. According to CAL Fire Communications Operator Jim DeVoll. it was a stolen vehicle that was torched by arsonists. Damage estimates: $1,500 to the vehicle … $1,200 to vegetation. The involved property is owned by Sun Up Land & Cattle Ranch.
