Fire Strikes Crystal Falls Residence

Sonora, CA — A small fire struck a residence located at 16539 Creekside Drive in the Crystal Falls area Tuesday evening.

According to CAL Fire Investigator Rommie Jones the alarm was sounded at 10:21. The fire was started when the female resident tripped over a pair of shoes and dropped a lantern. A fire than started on a rug.

Damage was estimated at $750.

Responding to the fire: four CAL Fire engines, three Tuolumne County Fire Department engines, Tuolumne County Fire Department Breathing Support and one engine from the Sonora City Fire Department.

The fire was contained at 10:40am. The event was closed at 12:14am.
