Sonora, CA — The growing abuse of prescription drugs will be the focus of Mother Lode Views this weekend on AM-1450 KVML, STAR 92.7 and Today’s Country, 93.5 KKBN.
Exclusive of marijuana, Dr. Todd Stolp will comment, "It’s in Tuolumne County and it’s across the nation prescription drugs are now replacing other street drugs as the most common abused drugs in the country. It’s (prescription drugs) now second only to marijuana as a drug of abuse."
District Attorney Donald Segerstrom will state that the use of cocaine in criminal cases has almost disappeared in comparison with the increasing abuse of prescription drugs.
And Sgt. Scott Johnson of the Tuolumne Narcotics Team (T.N.T.) will comment on the abundant accessibility of prescription drugs by teens from medicine cabinets. Often times drugs are stolen from seniors who do not keep an accurate account of their medications or who do not keep their prescribed drugs in a safe place.
Mother Lode Views can be heard on AM-1450 KVML Saturday morning at 9:30 and Sunday morning at 8:30. Mother Lode Views can also be heard on Today’s Country, 93.5 KKBN Sunday at 8am and an hour later on STAR 93.7.
Mother Lode Views will be posted on MyMotherLode.com under LIVE AUDIO STREAMS Tuesday, March 24.
