Sacramento, CA — Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger spent a portion of his Wednesday morning touting the 57 infrastructure projects that were selected to receive the first wave of federal stimulus money.
“For every billion dollars that you invest and spend on infrastructure, it creates another 18,000 new jobs,” Schwarzenegger said during a press conference. “This is why we are so eager to get this money from the federal government.”
Schwarzenegger claims that the initial 57 projects will create around 11,000 jobs throughout California.
$1.36 million from the initial round of funding will go towards repairing Hwy 49 from the Sonora city limits to the Calaveras County line.
