Small Stream Flood Advisory Issued For The Mother Lode

Sacramento, CA — The National Weather Service has issued until 6:15 this evening an urban and small stream flood advisory for a number of counties including Tuolumne and Calaveras.

Tuolumne County CHP Officer Mike Buller warns motorists to not attempt, under any circumstances, to cross a flooded roadway. In addition he cites the example of three people being killed on Mountain Ranch Rd. Sunday afternoon as to why motorists should drive under the speed limit in wet conditions.

In that noon hour accident a westbound Cheverolet Cavalier hydroplaned on wet pavement. After crossing into the westbound lane the vehicle was broadsided by a Toyota Tacoma pickup. Even though all four of the occupants were wearning their seatbelts three of them died and the fourth remains in critical condition at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
