Education Funding To Highlight Mother Lode Views

Sonora, CA — State and federal funding of education in California will highlight this weekend’s edition of Mother Lode Views.

Items to be discussed include reductions due to the newly signed state budget, ramifications of teacher layoffs and staff cutbacks.

Also to be discussed; what funds might be coming to the education arena from the federal stimulus package. Still another topic will deal with possible school funding from the private sector. And what about unifiying all California school districts? Will that come into play with so many reductions? Also the threesome will discuss possible ramifications of the six ballot, May 19 special election.

Guests this weekend include Dr. John Keiter, Summerville High and Twain Harte School District Superintendent, Mark Twain Elementary School Superintendent Kathy Northington and Tuolumne County School Superintendent Joe Silva.

Mother Lode Views can be heard on AM-1450 KVML Saturday morning at 9:30 and Sunday morning at 8:30. Mother Lode Views can also be heard on Today’s Country KKBN (93.5FM) Sunday at 8am and an hour later on STAR 92.7.
