Sonora, CA — Mother Lode Congressional leaders were against repealing the military’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell,” policy.
President Obama signed the legislation this morning that will allow openly gay men and women to serve in the armed forces. The Congressional roll call vote shows that Republican Representatives George Radanovich and Dan Lungren were both in opposition. Meanwhile, California Democratic Senators Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer both voted in favor of the repeal.
“Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” was signed into law in 1993 by then President Bill Clinton.
