Furloughs Hit Legal Snag

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — A judge has put a temporary halt on Governor Schwarzenegger’s plan to reinstate state worker furloughs. Alameda County Superior Court Judge Steven Brick has issued a temporary restraining order that prevents the governor from requiring state workers to take three unpaid days off per month beginning Friday.

The judge feels there are questions regarding the legality of the mandated furloughs. The Governor’s office plans to appeal the ruling.
