Strawberry, CA — The Stanislaus National Forest will soon begin a prescribed burn near the community of Strawberry.
The South Beardsley Underburn is scheduled to start on Monday, June 7th.
Over a period of four days, 370 acres will be treated with low to moderate intensity fire, depending on conditions. The project is located approximately one mile west of Strawberry, between Beardsley Road and the south shore of Beardsley Reservoir.
The project is designed to maintain and improve forest protection by reducing flammable underbrush. Smoke will be visible from some areas of Highway 108.
