The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Sierra Nevada beginning at 6pm Tuesday followed by a Winter Storm Warning from 11pm through 4am Thursday.
Snow levels will lower to 5500 feet.
Two to six inches of snow accumulation is expected at and above 6000 feet. Four inches to a foot of new snow is likely above 7000 feet.
Winds will be consistent from 20 to 30 mph with some gusts reaching up to 45 mph over the crest.
Unsettled weather will likely continue into Friday.
